Health insurance - introduction

Private medical cover may be more affordable than you think - and it can offer great peace of mind by delivering prompt treatment in comfortable surroundings if and when called upon. Insurers also often settle hospital and consultants' fees direct.

Some providers offer cash plans as alternatives to full insurance cover. Cash plans offer either part or full reimbursement of costs that you incur privately. Depending on the plan, this may include cash towards routine medical, health and dental costs like dentist check-ups, prescription glasses and physiotherapy.
