How to get listed
Introduction
Captain Consumer welcomes new submissions for entries in our online directory. We cover a wide range of categories spanning both consumer and business-to-business products and services. And if we don't already have a category that's relevant to your site, we are always happy to consider creating a new one. There are two main ways to get listed: through membership of an affiliate programme or through a link partnership.
Affiliate programme membership
If your website is already a member of a reputable UK affiliate programme, please send us the relevant details. We will then review your site's suitability for inclusion in our directory. Please note, however, that affiliate scheme membership does not guarantee a listing. Your site will still be subject to review and approval based on a range of critera including quality, relevance and usability.
Preference in terms of listing enhancements will be given to sites that include a link back to Captain Consumer, as detailed in Linking Instructions below.
If you are not a member of an affiliate scheme, you may like to consider joining one of the following networks:
Affiliate Window, Affiliate Future, Trade Doubler, Commission Junction, Web Gains, Linkshare UK or Paid on Results.
Link-based partnerships
For reciprocal link-based listings, setting up an inbound link to our site in accordance with our Linking Instructions below is an excellent starting point. However, as with affiliate programme membership (above), this doesn't guarantee a listing - your site will still be subject to review.
Linking instructions
Please add one of the following links to your site. Preference in terms of listing enhancements on our site will be given to those who place this link on their home page and/or at the top of link pages that have respectable page ranks.
Text link: <a href="http://www.captainconsumer.co.uk">Captain ConsumerĀ®</a> - Shopping directory, price comparison services and forum for UK online shoppers.
Banners: use the same linking code in conjunction with the following images, which should be displayed against a white background or your own page's background, if compatible:
![]() |
PLEASE NOTE: our banners must be served from your own server. DO NOT display them using code that pulls the images from our server. To save an image, right click on it and choose "Save picture as...". Then save it to your local machine, from where it can be prepared for uploading to your own site. The right to use these images is granted by us solely for the purpose of linking to our site. They may not be used for any other purpose, nor may they be changed in any way. Links must be updated or removed if and when instructed.
You can email us with any questions at the following address, after removing all of the spaces: advertising @ captainconsumer .co .uk.
Pay per click advertising
Certain sections of our site carry paid listings from pay-per-click networks. To benefit from advertising exposure across their overall network, sign up with Miva and / or get off to a flying start with a £50 credit at Yahoo Search Marketing.
